Vice-Chancellor's Scholar
Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours)
Angus commenced a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) in 2025, driven by his interest in economics at school and a desire to deepen his understanding of how financial markets, investment decisions, and technological changes shape the world around us.
A graduate from All Saints Anglican School on the Gold Coast, Angus achieved an ATAR of 99.95 and received a QCAA Distinguished Academic Achiever Award, placing him among the top students in his cohort. Following these achievements, he was awarded a Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship at UQ.
Through international work, study, and travel, Angus aims to build a global perspective during his degree. Inspired by his experience interning at a property technology startup in Hanoi as part of the UQ Ventures trip to Vietnam, he views learning from different cultures and economies as a requisite for making informed decisions. Further, this trip intensified his interest in innovation and entrepreneurship and strengthened his aspiration to work at the intersection of technology and finance.
Outside of his studies, Angus enjoys reading, with a strong interest in history and philosophy. He believes a sagacious worldview is driven by an insatiable curiosity and a fundamental love of learning. He also values exercise and playing musical instruments as essential complements to intellectual growth.
As a member of the Liveris Academy, Angus is excited to accelerate his leadership abilities, connect with like-minded scholars, and learn from experts who have navigated complex challenges across various global industries.
