Tinko Huston

Bachelors of Engineering (Honours) / Computer Science
Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholarship

Tinko is studying a dual degree in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Computer Science. She graduated from high school at Chancellor State College in the Sunshine Coast in 2024 as Dux with a 99.45 ATAR and received the Australian Defence Force Future Innovators award.

During school, Tinko spent most of her time competing in a competition called FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), helping manage a team called ‘#12993 RoboKings Aurum’. They were one of 4 Australian FTC teams competing at the World Championships in Houston, Texas, for three consecutive years running, starting from the 2022-2023 season ‘Power Play’.

FTC is a competition with over 8000 teams worldwide that places 4 robots on a 12 by 12 foot playing field to compete in an alliance-based format to score points by completing season-specific tasks. In the 2023-2024 ‘Centrestage’ FTC season, #12993 became the first Australian FTC team to compete in the World Championship Finals.

Outside of academics, Tinko enjoys reading fantasy and science fiction books, rock climbing and travelling. She is passionate about engineering and robotics and hopes to pursue work in that field in the future.

Tinko is excited to and honoured to become a part of the Liveris academy and looking forward to learning and networking from a group of fellow students.
