Adeeba Shaik

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Master of Engineering
Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholarship

Adeeba’s enthusiasm for problem-solving and her aspiration for innovative thinking have led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Honours) at the University of Queensland.

Adeeba aspires to integrate the skills gained from her studies with the leadership experiences offered by the Liveris Academy to foster positive change in the community. Particularly, Adeeba hopes to come up with novel and sustainable solutions to support the growing humanitarian and environmental challenges of the 21st century.

A strong advocate for holistic thinking, Adeeba believes in maintaining a balance between logic and creativity, and she practises this by being an avid reader and writer who believes in the transformative power of storytelling. In 2023, Adeeba received high commendation in the Aotearoa Yearbook Student Poetry competition, and her work has been featured in her school’s magazine and The Redraft magazine. In recognition of her achievements in writing and debating, she was honoured with the University of Auckland Faculty of Arts Award.

Having spent most of her childhood in New Zealand, Adeeba relocated to Australia in her final year of high school. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new environment, her perseverance earned Adeeba an ATAR of 99.4 and a QCE Certificate of Academic Commendation. She continues to follow her passion for writing and is currently developing a piece for the journal Science Write Now.

Adeeba is delighted to be part of the Liveris Academy, and she is honoured to work amongst and collaborate with other Liveris scholars to tackle global challenges and contribute meaningfully to society.
