Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar
Daham is driven by a profound passion for innovation and sustainable energy solutions. This fervour led him to embark on his academic journey, enrolling in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program at UQ in 2023, specialising in Electrical Engineering.
Prior to his university endeavours, Daham pursued his secondary education at Dharmaraja College, Sri Lanka, graduating with distinctions for all subjects in 2022. He excelled in the Sri Lankan Advanced Level Examinations in the physical science stream, where he achieved outstanding results in all subjects, placing him within the top 1% of students nationwide with a Z-score of 2.2118.
Daham's commitment to academic excellence was complemented by his active involvement in extracurricular activities. Notably, he demonstrated his leadership and philanthropic spirit by spearheading fundraising efforts to enhance his school's chemistry laboratory facilities.
Furthermore, Daham's artistic talents shone brightly as he clinched the college Western music prize for six consecutive years. His contributions extended beyond solo performances, as he played a pivotal role in the college choir and recorder group, leading them to numerous victories in inter-school competitions.
Beyond his academic and extracurricular endeavours, Daham finds joy in spending leisure time playing cricket and football with his friends.
As a Liveris Academy Vice Chancellor’s scholar, Daham aspires to be a catalyst for positive change towards a better and more sustainable future, fuelled by his unwavering dedication to innovation and excellence.
