Eleanor Hanna

Eleanor is a pre-medical student who is commencing her studies at the University of Queensland this year, undertaking a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours), majoring in Biomedical Science. She is honoured to have received a Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholarship and intends to use the opportunities provided to develop the leadership skills required to ensure our future is fairer, more sustainable, and accessible to all. She is extremely excited by the prospect of learning from today’s changemakers and being part of discussions that shape our collective future, particularly within the medical sphere.

Eleanor graduated from Indooroopilly State High School in 2023 with an ATAR ranking and UCAT score reflecting her academic excellence. Eleanor received numerous academic and sporting awards including The Federal Member’s Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, The Bronwyn Lucas Literary Excellence Award and individual subject prizes. Eleanor completed her first three years of high school within the Spanish Immersion Program and is a fluent Spanish speaker. She also acted as a School Sports Captain, coached school AFL teams and was elected as a mentor for younger students.

Outside of school Eleanor has been part of and captained Premiership winning teams at the Jindalee Jaguars AFL Club. In addition, in 2022 Eleanor was awarded the prestigious President’s Award for volunteering within the club, in particular for championing the participation of and opportunities for young women. Eleanor is looking forward to taking on the role of sports trainer with the club this year.

In her spare time, Eleanor enjoys playing and watching sport, writing short stories, and attending live music.
