Charlotte Sargent

Bachelor of Computer Science
Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholar

Charlotte is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science at The University of Queensland, to further her love of problem solving and programming.

Charlotte graduated with a 99.75 ATAR from Somerville House in 2022, receiving the shared Dux of school and the Physics subject prize, as well as the QCE Certificate of Academic Commendation for achieving six As. She was also a recipient of the ADF Future Innovators’ Award, and the Grade 11 Valedictorian Respondent.

During her time at school, Charlotte was actively involved in the school community, including completing the Duke of Edinburgh Award. As Academic Captain and part of the Prefect body, she introduced the inaugural Academic Learner Award, to acknowledge students who displayed positive learning behaviours, regardless of academic achievement. Charlotte’s passion for programming and education resulted in her creating workshops for primary school students to learn programming, in order to foster enthusiasm and confidence with coding from a young age.

In 2021, Charlotte led a team to organise the TEDxYouth@GrahamSt event with the theme ‘unseen’, to showcase otherwise unheard voices and stories.

In addition to academics, Charlotte loves reading, dancing, travelling, and working on DIY projects. She also works part-time at both a restaurant and as a medical receptionist.

Charlotte is honoured to receive the Liveris Academy Undergraduate Scholarship and is excited to collaborate and learn with her fellow Liveris Scholars.
