Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours)
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholar
William is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) degree at UQ. Fascinated by the potential for sustainable change in these industries towards modern social objectives, William’s passion for study is fuelled by curiosity.
In 2021, William graduated from Brisbane Grammar School (BGS) as a School Vice-Captain, Prefect and Captain of Swimming. These leadership opportunities provided William with a platform to utilise and build upon relationships fostered while at school, to leave a positive mark on the community. Outside of leadership William’s involvements were broad and focused upon connections built outside of the classroom. He played Rugby, Football, Basketball and Swimming as well as contributing to the Public Purpose and Academic Support Committee. In Year 12, William, along with other students, hosted subject tutorials with attendances exceeding 150 students.
William received a Queensland Certificate of Academic Commendation and achieved an ATAR above 99. In his first year of University William involved himself in all aspects of his study. He is a Sub-executive on the University of Queensland’s Business Association (UQBA) and received 1st place honours in the Deloitte Sustainable Energy Competition, where his team were tasked with creating an economic policy to address Queensland’s current energy crisis.
Outside of the classroom, William works as a learn-to-swim instructor and Tutor and plays local club rugby. All of these passions are grounded in a love for helping people and developing connections which he believes equip him well to excel within the Liveris Academy.
