Throughout high school, Aliya was involved in numerous leadership activities such as the Peer Support program and Student Representative Council. She also developed a passion for music through participation both in her school’s numerous vocal and instrumental ensembles, as well as outside school in the Australian Honours Ensemble Program and the Queensland Conservatorium MOST Residential Camp.
Furthermore, as an avid debater, Aliya has competed in both the Queensland Debating Union and Greater Public Schools debating competitions since Year 8. In 2021, she extended her passion for debating by hosting online workshops for primary school students while volunteering with the US-based Fremont Debate Academy. She also coached a beginner Year 8 team through to the Queensland Debating Union Semi Finals, for which she was awarded State High’s Student Coach of the Year.
Outside her studies, Aliya enjoys reading, teaching herself piano, and tutoring younger students. She is honoured to join the Liveris Academy community and looks forward to applying her legal and linguistic knowledge to create a more sustainable future.
