Affiliate Program

The Liveris Academy Affiliate Program offers a limited number of opportunities for undergraduate students, from selected programs, to join the academy.

As a Liveris Academy Affiliate you will become a full member of the Academy and will participate in a suite of academic and leadership enrichment programs across the year.

Please be aware students holding Liveris Academy Affiliate Positions do not receive any financial compensation for their involvement. Membership involves access to regular workshops, week-long summer, and winter programs, and exclusive access to a variety of skill building opportunities, event registrations, community and professional networking, and discussions with global leaders.

Eligibility to Apply

Eligible students will:

be studying an undergraduate degree
have an interest in sustainability, digital transformation and innovation
have completed no less than two semesters towards their current program of study
will not be entering the final year of their current program
be part of a selected program for the year of the opportunity (see Frequently Asked Questions for the current specific programs).

Q. I am not eligible for the Liveris Scholarships, is there any other way I can be involved?
A. There are currently a few alternative pathways to joining the Liveris Academy. They don’t involve scholarship funding, but they do involve everything else that comes with being part of the Liveris Academy and community.

Liveris Affiliate opportunities are generally advertised through specific programs, such as the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship, Priority Learners Support Programs (PLSP), and through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit. If you have questions about affiliate positions email the academy.

Program Requirements

Applicants must agree that, if selected, they will engage with the activities offered in the Liveris Academy to the best of their abilities. This involves an average commitment of 6-10 hours per week for academy work; including attendance and engagement in regular speaker sessions, workshops, and contributions to project meetings/other opportunities offered, including winter and summer intensive programs at the end of each semester.

Work completed within the Academy does not count towards course credit.

How to Apply

To apply you must:

Complete the application form;
Write 2 x 200-word paragraphs outlining:
1. an example or examples of extracurricular activities you have participated in during the previous 2 years. Explain how these activities have made an impact on your community and how this would help you as a Liveris Scholar at UQ
2. an example of a significant challenge that you have faced when working as a team and how you applied your leadership skills to overcome the challenge
Submit a one-minute video outlining why you are interested in becoming a member of the Liveris Academy.
