About the UNHCR and the Ukraine Crisis:
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. The Ukraine emergency is now the world’s largest human displacement crisis, with 14 million people forced to flee for their lives. Six million refugees have fled Ukraine, while another eight million are internally displaced. Inside Ukraine, many communities are cut off from water, heating, health care and other essentials. UNHCR estimates than more than 15.7 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.UNCHR has been working in Ukraine for around three decades, providing humanitarian assistance wherever necessary. Their teams are on the ground and committed to stay and deliver amid the deteriorating situation and increasing displacement. All funds raised through this initiative will go to Australia for UNHCR, the official charity that raises funds to support the Global UN Refugee Agency.
