Rianna Webster

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Master of Engineering
Pekol Family Scholar

Rianna is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Master of Engineering at UQ with the intent of majoring in Aerospace Engineering.  In 2020, Rianna graduated from A.B. Paterson College on the Gold Coast with the Dux Proxime Accessit Award, where she was the College Leader for Arts and Societies and Swim Captain.

Despite a year of limited physical interactions, she combined integrated technology into creative activities to digitally connect with the student community and foster a sense of togetherness.

Having been fortunate enough to travel to locations like Winton, where she worked with BlazeAid to rebuild fencing after the 2019 floods, and Zambia, working with World Challenge on a housing project, Rianna quickly realised the importance of community.

This, combined with her passion for math and science led her to the field of engineering, where the collaboration of bright and innovative minds can and will change the future. With the goal of joining the space industries, she believes that while the sky used to be the limit, advancements in space technologies have obliterated that glass ceiling.

Outside of the classroom, Rianna competed nationally throughout high school in swimming and thoroughly enjoys all things musical. Through her involvement in various activities and groups, she hopes to be a figure of support and a mentor to those in her communities so students after her may find their paths to success easier.

Rianna is honoured to be a Scholar of the Liveris Academy and is very excited to discover what lies ahead in her journey at UQ.
