Sadaf Manshadi

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
Rogers Family Scholar

Sadaf is currently completing a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at UQ majoring in Civil Engineering, with a keen interest in sustainable structural design. She has received the honour of the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence for each semester undertaken in her studies thus far.

Sadaf attended high school in Cairns and it was during this time she began volunteering in the Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program (JYSEP); empowering young teenagers and working with parents to transform their neighbourhoods for the better. In 2019, Sadaf decided to undertake a gap year, working with ‘Warwick Youth Connect’, where she facilitated regular spaces for local Warwick youth to discuss various ways youth can channel their immense capabilities towards the betterment of their community and the empowerment of a population. As part of a team of like-mined individuals, Sadaf was required to work closely at the grassroots, alongside the people of Warwick themselves to share in their struggles and their victories.

Being raised in the Baha’i Faith, this has had a strong influence on the decisions Sadaf has made in her life thus far and the decisions she will continue to make. She believes everyone has the duty to dedicate their energies to the spiritual and material advancement of civilisation and that all, especially youth, can engage in social action and discourse to push towards this goal.

Outside of her studies, Sadaf enjoys reading fiction, escaping to blue beaches and quality time with friends and family.

Sadaf is thrilled to be a member of the Liveris Academy and is excited to develop her leadership and critical thinking skills to prepare for the workforce and the inevitable global challenges that lie ahead.
