Rishi Goel

Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours)
Liveris Undergraduate Scholar

Rishi is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Science and plans to specialise in physics.

He graduated from Brisbane Grammar School in 2020, receiving an ATAR of 99.90 and later being awarded the UQ Vice-Chancellors scholarship. He was actively involved in the community, playing basketball for the 1st V GPS squad while tutoring refugee and English as a Second Language students.

During his senior year, Rishi was dedicated to his role as prefect and head of the Academic Support Committee, where he held twice-weekly ‘QCE masterclasses’ for year 12 Mathematics, Sciences and Economics with over 80 students participating.

Outside of studying, Rishi loves the outdoors, frequently going rock-climbing and hikes with friends and family. One day he hopes to build his own rock-climbing wall within his house (possibly as an alternative to stairs).

You can often find Rishi playing a game of pickup basketball at his local park courts and then going out to grill’d for a juicy 'Simon Says' burger.

After involving himself in the Junior Youth Physics Tournament in grade 9, he fell in love with physics and the process of experimentation. With plans to continue his education and receive a PhD he hopes to pursue a career into sustainability research. For Rishi this means working in a lab to discover new options for more efficient power production with less waste or utilising the physical laws to reach a zero-emissions future.
