Rishi Goel

Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours)
Liveris Undergraduate Scholar

Rishi is currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Science and plans to specialise in physics. He graduated from Brisbane Grammar School in 2020, receiving an ATAR of 99.90 . He was actively involved in the community, playing basketball for the 1st V GPS squad while tutoring refugee and English as a Second Language students.

Outside of studying, Rishi loves the outdoors, frequently going rock-climbing and hikes with friends and family. One day he hopes to build his own rock-climbing wall within his house (possibly as an alternative to stairs).

After completing research projects and competing in physics Olympiads, he fell in love with physics and the process of experimentation. With plans to continue his education towards a PhD, he hopes to pursue a career into sustainability research. For Rishi this means working in a lab to discover new alternatives for more efficient power production with less waste or utilising the physical laws to reach a zero-emissions future.

Rishi is now exploring Norwegian culture on a semester based exchange with the University of Bergen. Taking courses in sustainable development, the Scandinavian energy transition, international climate policy and atmospheric physics, he aims to gain a deeper understanding of the ways physics will be used to shape the modern world.
