Flynn Pearman

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Mathematics
Liveris Undergraduate Scholar

Flynn is studying a Bachelor of Engineering and Mathematics, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from Padua College, Brisbane, in 2018 as Dux of the College, and was later named a Distinguished Academic Achiever by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority as one of the top 30 graduating students in the State. During his senior years, Flynn was highly committed to his role as Academic Leader at Padua College, through which he led numerous initiatives to enhance the academic culture of the school.

Flynn was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship upon commencing at UQ and was honoured to be selected in the first cohort of Liveris Academy Scholars in 2019.

Outside of his studies, Flynn enjoys cricket, basketball, Australian rules football and skiing. Since commencing university and further broadening his interests, he has discovered a passion for golf (which he wishes he could play more of).

He hopes to pursue a career solving problems that he is passionate about, such as those around sustainability in sports – the combination of two of his interests.

In 2022, Flynn enjoyed expanding his horizons by spending a semester studying abroad at McGill University, Canada.

As a Liveris Scholar, he is excited to improve both his technical and leadership skills and make the most of the unique opportunities the Academy provides.
