Emily Price

Bachelor of Engineering/Master of Engineering (Chemical)
Vice-Chancellor's Scholar

Emily has been part of the Liveris Academy as a Vice-Chancellor's Associate Scholar since commencing her studies in 2021 and is now completing her fifth and final year of her Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering program, specialising in Chemical Engineering.

Her time at UQ has been full of varied experiences, with a highlight being her semester exchange at the Technical University of Denmark in her third year, where she immersed herself in a new culture and jumped on the opportunity to take environmental engineering courses at a university at the forefront of sustainability innovation. She recently completed her semester placement at UQ's Food and Beverage Accelerator, where she was part of a collaborative project with Nourish Ingredients, and wrote her thesis on the applications of novel lipids in food systems. Following this, she commenced working at v2 Food, a leader in plant-based meat products, as a Food Engineer and she is continuing in this role as she completes her Master's year. Emily's true passion is at the intersection of environmental and food engineering, and she aims to work on innovative solutions to current food problems, such as food security and the environmental footprint of food products.

Outside of work and study, you can find Emily in the kitchen or on the netball courts. She also loves to travel, and is already planning her next adventure!
