Emily Price

Bachelor of Engineering/Masters of Engineering
Vice-Chancellor's Scholar

Emily Price graduated from Townsville Grammar School in 2020, where she received an ATAR of 99.95. As a result, she is a recipient of the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship at the University of Queensland. Emily is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Master of Engineering and living on campus at college.

She was a participant on the National Youth Science Forum in 2020 and loved the opportunity to view the real world applications of STEM and be empowered to be a young leader. The program inspired her to pursue a career in engineering. She plans to specialise in chemical engineering, and in particular wants to address the issue of food production with a growing world population.

Emily was the School Captain at TGS and an active member of her school community. She enjoys playing netball and other social sports, being a member of musical ensembles and cooking for friends and family. A highlight of her schooling was her participation in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, which she feels has given her the social agency and confidence to make change in her community. Outside of her studies, Emily has a passion for travel after completing a short-term exchange in Italy. She wishes to return to complete a semester abroad and continue to broaden her social horizons and improve her foreign language skills.
