AIBN Entrepreneurial PhD
Alongside studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Patrick worked his way into a management role across multiple optometry clinics on the Sunshine Coast. Upon completing his bachelor’s degree, Patrick continued full time work in this role for 3 years before moving to Brisbane to commence a Master of Molecular Biology at The University of Queensland, which he completed at the end of 2023.
Patrick is now undertaking a full-time position as a PhD candidate through the Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at The University of Queensland. The focus of Patrick's PhD is investigating multidrug resistance in bacteria using advanced computational techniques. He aspires to implement Machine Learning and AI models to improve antibiotic drug design.
