Lily Counsell

Bachelor of Engineering
Liveris Undergraduate Scholar

Lily graduated from Brisbane Girls Grammar School in 2022 having achieved an exceptional ATAR and academic achievement awards consistently throughout her schooling. She is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), specialising in Chemical Engineering.

Lily grew up on a merino sheep station in Central Western Queensland. A large portion of her childhood was dominated by severe and unprecedented drought, of which the devastating effects allowed Lily to develop an appreciation for nature and the environment, as well as an acute awareness for climate change and its ever-increasing impact on the planet. She hopes to use this first-hand knowledge and experience as a part of the Liveris Academy, where alongside likeminded peers she can strive for a better and more sustainable future.

In her senior year, Lily was House Captain and held a position on the Student Council, both of which assisted her in developing a passion for leadership which she hopes to further as a member of the Liveris Academy.

Outside of her academic endeavours, Lily possesses a love for animals, having grown up surrounded by all creatures great and small. She also enjoys sitting down to read a good book and socialising with friends.

Lily is honoured to be a member of the Liveris Academy and is excited to work with her peers to contribute to the academy and UQ.
