Amber is in her third year of studying a combined Bachelor and Master of Chemical Engineering, hoping to create a positive difference in sustainability and innovation while travelling around the world. During her current studies she has been lucky enough to join UQ Ventures on their 2022 AdVenture trip to Singapore, learning about the local culture and the start-up culture too. The trip was enlightening and gave Amber a lot to think about.
Amber has also been lucky enough to be a Young Achiever Mentor, allowing her to give back to a program which supported her in high school, and which still supports her. The Young Achievers Program supports grade 11 and 12 high school students to access university by providing mentorship from current UQ university students.
In her downtime, she enjoys learning and building on her current skills such as sewing, jewellery making, and drawing. In the past, Amber has been seen dancing, playing various musical instruments and sports, performed a variety of spoken pieces including poetry and improv reading, and volunteered for local clubs such as Girl Guides. All of these have developed her interpersonal skills such as leadership and communication skills.
