Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine (Provisional Entry)

Murray is studying for a Bachelor of Science with provisional entry to the Doctor of Medicine program at the University of Queensland. He is majoring in Biomedicine, driven by his passion for medical innovation and research.

Murray completed his education in Far North Queensland. In 2021, he graduated as Dux of Trinity Anglican School, receiving an ATAR of 99.85 and the prestigious Spirit of TAS, Sportsperson of the Year and Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Throughout his time at school, Murray strived to immerse himself in the opportunities available at his school and the broader community. His pursuit of personal growth culminated in his appointment as TAS School Captain and House Captain for 2021 and as one of 10 students in Queensland awarded the TJ Ryan Memorial Medal and Scholarship for 2022.

Alongside Murray's STEM-based academia, he is interested in studying Japanese, which he credits for furthering his personal development. He has had the opportunity to undertake a homestay experience in Tokyo and was named a State Runner-Up for the 2021 Iwasaki Sangyo Prize. Murray is also an avid sportsperson, participating in Triathlon, Cross Country, and Athletics. His persistence saw him place 4th at the 2021 Queensland Cross Country Championships and be selected for the Queensland Cross Country and Athletics Teams.

Community service is something Murray seeks to involve himself in. He believes that working with others and raising awareness is vital to solving society's issues. He is a member and volunteer caretaker within the Low Isles Preservation Society and has served various leadership roles within the Surf Lifesaving movement. Within these organisations, Murray has continuously committed to improving his leadership skills.

Murray is delighted to participate in the opportunities presented as a Liveris and UQ Excellence Scholar. He is enthusiastic about working with his peers to contribute to the academy, university, and broader community.
