Claudia McPherson

Vice-Chancellor's Scholar
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/ Bachelor of Computer Science

Claudia is currently undertaking a dual degree in Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Queensland. After travelling Australia in a caravan as a child, Claudia developed a passion for technology assisted sustainability, in order to preserve the beautiful Australian landscape. She graduated in 2021 as dux of her school with an ATAR of 99.95, and enjoyed developing her leadership skills in various co-curricular captain roles.

She hopes to use her degree to better understand the potential of technology and innovate impactful sustainability-focused solutions. She believes that her experience as a foster sibling has been an influential part of her life, and she hopes to use her leadership skills and technological experience to prioritise people both locally and globally who have not been given the same privilege.

Claudia has also spoken on both leadership and academic based panels and hopes to use her experience to inspire and lead the next generation. She also won the Premier’s ANZAC Prize and was given the opportunity to tour the Western Front in Europe, learning about cultural perceptions and international views of conflict in Australia and overseas.

She is excited to join the Liveris Academy in 2022 and hopes to connect with others and explore the intersection between her passions and skills.
