Elise is a UQ Excellence Scholar studying a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) concurrently with a Diploma in Languages majoring in German. 

She attended Lourdes Hill College, and during her time achieved Dux of the College, Dux of Year 11 and Dux of Year 10. Elise graduated in 2019 with the highest result in the state for Mathematics B, Mathematics C, Physics, Chemistry, German and Religion & Ethics. She also received a QCE Distinguished Academic Achievement Award in recognition of her exceptional Year 12 results which placed her in the top thirty students in Queensland.

In addition to her strength in academia, Elise enjoys getting involved in service activities and leadership roles. During school, she was College Environmental Service Group Captain and College Academic Captain. Upon graduation in Year 12 she received the prestigious Principal’s Award for outstanding school service and leadership. At UQ she has been involved in UQ Ventures’ female leadership development program LeadHers; and is currently both the youngest executive member and Marketing Director of UQ’s largest multidisciplinary society – the UQ Women’s Network. 

Elise has always had a passion for the environment and sustainability, inspired by her travels around Australia and in particular its National Parks. This led to her participation in internships at the CSIRO Marine Debris Team in Hobart and in ACEMS’ Virtual Great Barrier Reef Diver Team, which she thoroughly enjoyed. 

Elise hopes to pursue a career in sustainable finance and economics, with a particular interest in sustainable investment and policymaking.
