Sienna Thompson

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/ Bachelor of Science
O’Moore Scholar

Sienna is an undergraduate first-year student completing Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), specialising in Electrical Engineering with a major in Biomedical Engineering, and Bachelor of Science majoring in Biomedical Science.

Graduating from Kilcoy State High School (KSHS) in 2020, among her Academic Achievement Awards, Sienna was awarded the Deb Frecklington Achievement Award and KSHS School Service and citizenship award.  Having explored a range of study areas through high school, Sienna was most interested in the way engineers can innovate and improve how technology supports medical treatments. Highly drawn to the limitless opportunities to improve quality of life with STEM, Sienna aims to apply her studies to connecting people and technology where it is needed most.

Although Sienna’s passions lie within STEM, she also enjoys the arts, often found nose deep in a book, playing music on repeat, or re-watching her favourite films.  Never taking an opportunity for granted and making the most of her education, are two of Sienna’s greatest morals. Sienna is dedicated to making change in healthcare and inequality. She hopes to take her skills and knowledge as a student scientist and engineer overseas and to communities where medical innovation is needed.

As the recipient of the O’Moore Scholarship Endowment, Sienna joins the progressive, innovative, and pioneering scholars of the Liveris Academy.
