Nelson Prichard

Liveris Academy Alumnus

Nelson graduated with a Bachelor or Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Honours), majoring in economics in 2023. 

In 2019, he graduated from the Ermitage International School of France in Paris in the scientific stream of the International Option of the French Baccalaureate (OIB). In his senior high school years, he was an active participant of the Model United Nation’s (MUN) programme through with he developed a deep interest in geopolitical issues and debating. This involvement saw him participating in debates within the MUN programme across France and the Netherlands and ultimately participating in one of the most renowned MUN conferences in the world in New York at the United Nations Headquarters. He received several awards for his participation in these MUN conferences. 

After graduating from high school, Nelson volunteered for 4 months as an English teacher in Fe y Alegria Primary School and as a French teacher at the National University of Santiago Antunez Mayolo in Huaraz, Peru. He undertook this experience to challenge himself to make a long-term difference in disadvantaged communities that he initially was not connected to.

Nelson was awarded a UQ merit Scholarship in his first year and subsequently granted the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholarship in his second year. Through his studies, he gained a better understanding of the socio-economic, environment and technological challenges our world faces, in order to help to overcome them. 

Parallel to his studies, Nelson enjoys running, playing golf and socialising with his friends. He is deeply honoured to be have been a scholar of the Liveris Academy and opportunity it provided to interact with other scholars and broaden his skills and knowledge.
