Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering
Young Achievers Program (YAP) Scholar
Clancy began his tertiary studies at UQ in 2024, enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering. In 2025 he pursued a specialisation in Chemical Engineering to develop his interest in chemical processing.
In 2023 Clancy graduated Stanthorpe State High School as school captain with an ATAR of 95, as well as being awarded with a University of Queensland Young Achiever Scholarship.
During his first year at UQ, Clancy resided at Union College and was awarded as a 2024 Gallipoli Scholar, which enabled him to develop important connections in a new environment, coming from a small rural community. He was also fortunate enough to attend the inaugural Young Achievers Malaysia study tour, this experience gave Clancy valuable exposure to other cultures and their customs.
He is a current UQ Young Achievers Mentor to a group of rural high school students as they transition into potentially studying at UQ. He thoroughly enjoys giving back to a program that gave him a great start to university.
In his spare time Clancy enjoys running, watching different sports and engaging with jobs on the family farm when he gets the chance.
Clancy is excited to be chosen as a Young Achievers Liveris Scholar and is looking forward to contributing to the academy. He is eager to connect with and learn from a range of mentors from a breadth of backgrounds to gain experience towards pursuing a role as a chemical engineer.
