Jane is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering specialising in chemical engineering and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in philosophy and writing. She plans to utilise her degree to integrate technical problem solving and critical thinking to develop ethical and sustainable solutions to global issues. She is interested in how interdisciplinary thinking in engineering can create a tangible positive change in our diverse and changing society.
Jane graduated from Brisbane State High School in 2023 with an ATAR of 99.65 and has maintained an exceptional academic record. She was actively involved in various extracurricular activities, particularly in music, and took on leadership roles throughout high school. In her senior years, she participated in in Peer Support Programs, served as a Vocal Ensemble leader, and was a finalist in the Queensland Evatt Model United Nations Competition.
Jane is also passionate about supporting younger students to achieve their goals, particularly those with learning disabilities who face who face additional challenges in our educational system. She has volunteered in mentor programs and has tutored many young people, helping them to perform at their best and building their confidence in their academic abilities and develop essential skills for success beyond the classroom.
At UQ, Jane has enjoyed engaging in several student societies, supporting and volunteering for society events, and socialising with a diverse group of students. Outside of university, Jane enjoys collecting and listening to music, cooking and baking, and spending time with friends.
Jane is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Liveris Academy and is excited to collaborate with like-minded individuals to create meaningful and lasting impact.
