Darcy is studying a Bachelor of Engineering, hoping to pursue a career in as a mining engineer, intending to contribute to the improvement of efficiency and sustainability in the field of open cut mines.

Originally from Kaimkillenbun, Darcy spent seven years at Kaimkillenbun State School before becoming a boarder at Toowoomba Grammar School. During his time at school, he actively improved his academic skill while also being strongly involved in the school community through sports and service while also contributing to the boarding house to tutor younger students and make himself openly available for help. In his final years he was school prefect and academic leader in which he was able to work with his peers to contribute toward boosting the academic and cultural quality of the school. 

Over his time at school, Darcy dedicated himself to a range of cultural, sporting, service and academic areas in which he received double honour colours. And despite the wide range of activities, he committed too, he graduated grade 11 with Proxime Accessit before graduating in 2022 as dux of his cohort with an ATAR of 99.30.

Buoyed by the change that has been spurred in recent decades, Darcy is keen to explore the different fields of engineering while specialising in civil engineering before majoring in mining engineering where he hopes to aid and improve the extraction of raw materials for the future.
